Clare’s experience in mediation instructions to date includes areas such as compulsory purchase, service charges, valuation, planning, property management, repossession, beneficial interests, general contractual and workplace disputes.  Clare has a direct, but flexible and dynamic approach to mediation, which facilitates parties in finding solutions to reach settlements.

Clare has 9 years experience in the surveying profession and has a previous career in banking and finance, as a manager for Lloyds TSB. Clare has now worked with King Sturge since 2007 concentrating on building and expanding upon professional valuation and development consultancy. This is an extension of her previous experience having spent 4 years working as a Director for Lambert Smith Hampton, where she expanded the professional services’ surveying business and established herself as a well respected Valuer and professional surveyor in the local business community.

Experience includes working closely with most mainstream banks and lenders, valuing both investments and development schemes; including some of the larger and more complex mixed use property assets. In addition to advising banks, Clare has also worked with a number of developers directly to provide pre-acquisition advice, preliminary valuation advice and potential solutions to proposed future schemes.  Consultancy and valuation advice to local authorities on development projects, planning applications and S106 affordable housing requirements has also featured strongly in recent years. Asset valuations for financial reporting purposes are also undertaken for a number of individual clients and property companies.

Experience

2007 to date
King Sturge, Bath Office Head of Professional Services, Bath Office

Targeted to expand the commercial/residential valuation and professional services team, including leasehold consultancy; strengthening the presence and profile of King Sturge in the M4 corridor area. As an RICS accredited mediator developing and expanding this service line and specialism to compliment existing in-house arbitrators and expert witness professionals, UK wide.

2003 - 2007
Lambert Smith Hampton, Director

A newly qualified Chartered Surveyor, based in Reading, tasked with expanding the commercial and residential valuation business and driving forward the professional services profile of the company in the Thames Valley. During this four year period the level of instructions and income for valuation work trebled and swift promotion to Director was given in recognition of achievements and ability.

2001 - 2003
Atis Real, Surveyor

Having taken three years to undertake a RICS accredited surveying degree, surveying work commenced in London, working in Strategic Consultancy, Commercial and Residential Valuation, and Rating, whilst studying for Chartered Surveyor status.

1991 – 1998.
Lloyds TSB Plc, Manager

A seven year banking career covering a wide range of business areas, located throughout the UK, including customer services, bank product sales, retail and commercial finance, productivity manager and assistant to regional sales managers, culminating in a final role working in Savings and Investment Marketing Management.

These roles entailed working directly with the general public and businesses at a senior level, helping them to manage their banking requirements, overcome financial difficulties and manage customer complaints. In addition to, devising strategies to introduce new products to the market, considering the legal implications, managing budgets and sales targets, as well as overseeing a team of staff and managing personnel issues.
